Sita Michelle Baker

With 28 years of study, practice, and teaching Yoga, Sita’s main training comes from the Yoga Center of California where she studied philosophies and techniques from all the main yoga systems (Hatha, Raja, Jnana, Bhakti, Laya, Kundalini, Karma, Ashtanga, Mantra yogas along with Metaphysics and Mysticism).  She studied directly under a Yoga Master and Mystic. This personal, in-depth training from a yoga master allows her to deeply explore her own daily practice and develop a style in her teaching that is far beyond asana.

Additionally, as a Yoga Therapist, Sita is also trained in Hatha yoga traditions of Iyengar, Viniyoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative, Svaroopa, Sivananda, Ananda yoga and Energy Medicine Yoga. Her style is all inclusive. Her teaching stems from the belief that everyone can participate in the life changing practices of yoga.

Sita pursued yoga therapy to deepen her understanding of the body and mind in relationship to specific illnesses, conditions, and injuries and to study the research that verifies yoga’s success especially when western medicine has reached its limits. As a certified yoga therapist, she takes great joy in working one-on-one with students,  helping them discover adaptations and practices that will contribute to their healing and improve their quality of life.

Sita draws from training in Marma Therapy, the vital pressure point system of Ayurveda, Pranic Healing, and Divine Light Healing to provide energy healing for clients.

Always a student, Sita continues exploring the sciences of sound, mysticism and metaphysics, Ayurveda, and energy healing under the guidance of Dr. Marc Halpern, Nischala Joy Devi, Dimitri Moraitis and Barbara Martin. Her gratitude extends to all those teachers, mentors, students, and friends who have taught her along the way. It’s really their gifts that she shares with you. Sita believes, as they do, that Yoga works.  All you have to do is practice and watch your life unfold.
